Fire Is My Friend

Many scare stories you read or movies you watch have, "It was a dark and stormy night", but my story starts with a "It was a nice and sunny day."

Nikki, a girl with long dark hair and red eyes, was playing with fire. She always plays with fire. She likes the fire and it likes her back. Fire is her only friend. Everyone thinks Nikki is weird except for her little brother Jayne, a cute little guy who's shy but loved for his cuteness, is the only one who knows the real Nikki, his gentle sister. Even her parents judged her by her looks. Feeling hated Nikki closed herself to everyone except her little brother, however she didn't hate. On day Nikki was bored because she had read all the books she had. She saw a flame and it seems like it was calling for her. She went to the flame and touched it. Realizing that she was touching fire Nikki got scared for the first time and ran. When she got home, she saw that her hands were fine. Curious, she got a candle, lite it up and put her hands on the fire. She was prepared to get her hands burned but she felt nothing but ticklishness. Ever since that day Nikki has been playing with fire. Nikki got so used of the fire she was now able to control it from anywhere at anytime, she could even produce her own fire now. Nikki kept it a secret from everyone afraid they might think she's even more weird, however, she did not keep it a secret from Jayne. 

One night Nikki was playing hid and seek with her brother. Jayne went to hid in a walk in closet they had. Because he was so tiny and the room was so dark Nikki couldn't find her brother. Jayne accidentally locked the little closet inside the closet. Scared he could scream for help. Nikki got worried and decided to lite a light. When Jayne saw the light he yelled: Nikki...Nikki am in here, help, I'm scared Nikki. I'm scared!

Don't worry, Nikki said, I'll get you out. Because Nikki couldn't go open the lights she had to try opening the door while holding a fire ball on her other hand. While trying to open the door, Nikki's hand slip and the fire spreaded around the closet. She tried controlling the fire but it was too much for her all alone.
