Broken City

Broken City

A Poem by YM23

Endless Roads,
Soulful Ruins,
Dear Traveler,
Rest a while,

I will comfort thee,
nourish and protect thee,
for you to pursue your journey

North, East, South, West,
forget these words for they have no sense
I shall appear to thee, when thou need me the most
Sunset, Sunrise, Dusk or Dawn,
Time stands still, until thou find,
what thou seek

wander my alleys,
uncover my secrets,
never will thou be as free,
as when thou roam my orange dusted streets

broken in pieces,
cracked surfaces
they bear scars that tell my Story,
listen to the song these walls  sing,
lullabies of previous Nomads,

come dear Traveler,
may the melodies of deserted Wanderers,
within my Saharan colored walls,
take you to a place,
thou shall find peace
