My dance with you

That first slow dance.

I thought we were meant to be.

You were in my dreams,

If I could just replay them...

We said we loved each other.

Every morning and every night.

I liked you since day one,

did you too? 

But then we were done.

And you liked a different girl.

What did she have that I didn't?

I said I didn't care,

but honestly I did.

But after a while I got over it.

I mean, what was I supposed to do? 

Then once again...

You liked me. 

So the feelings came back.

So we were together.

"You guys are the perfect two" they said.

But then I just got jealous.

She would come up to you,

and you guys would talk,

and you would smile.

I don't think I ever made you smile like that.

You promised to go to the dance with her before,

which made me really upset,

but whatever.

Once again I got over it.

But you rejected her and went with me.

And it was the first slow dance.

We hugged.

And you kissed me.

You told me I looked beautiful.

It was just,

Heaven on earth.

I don't think I was ever that happy.

Two months after that,

once again, we were done.

For real.

You got over it.

Got a new girl.

And i'm still here.

Trying not to care.

But I won't ever forget my dance with you.
