Reality CheckA Poem by Adora.xoBlech SlammingLast night I walked to that huge hill, The one that over-looks the sea, And lets me see, the world not as it seems, But how it should be. Because the reality, of the world around me Is too… Bleak. And it renders me Unbearably weak and makes me weep, Silently, in my mind. Makes me crave for A smile that is kind not cold. And, Arms outstretched to hold me not my money. This money that I’ve worked my, A*s off for, the plastic tokens that should’ve, Would’ve, let me fly. But no, the devil is always close behind, Taunting me telling me it’s mine! All mine! But the air in this reality is too thick, Too heavy to bear too thin to wear, And yet it is shared, with everyone to Crush their hopes and dreams, and Rip their childish bliss at the seams! So when last night this foreboding, Bleak and lifeless realty, Came to See me, came to rip me and pluck me like leaves From a dying tree, I walked. I left that b*****d to look and stare, As I walked to the hill and made myself bare, To the glare of the stars and let realty, blindly, Show me the world not how it should seem, But how it is.
