The Dying GirlA Poem by Adora.xoUh a sad poem... =/She whispered to her mother, “Mommy where will I go?” And her mother smiled, “Darling soon you’ll know..” Day by day her tiny fingers, Would reach up to draw her dreams, Her innocent mind of impossibilities, Brimming with nothingness it seems. Every night she would pray to a God She damned with her empty prayer, For luck, love and a long life, Simple things, but he refused to save her. And then came the grey-skied morning, Her breathing shallow and weak, Her tiny body nothing but bones beneath blanket, Her smile could never hide the breath her spirit seeks. She whispered with her dying breath “Mommy will I see you there?” And her mother closed her eyes and cried, Spilling tears into the dead girl’s stare. © 2010 Adora.xoAuthor's Note
