Oh darling shepherd of mine
Your offers taste of bitter-sweet wine,
And though lovely they may seem,
I’m afraid they are but a dream.
With lack of fortune I cannot love thee,
For through your fake words I see,
An artificial material need,
A hunger that you wish for me to feed?
But dear sir I cannot,
For I am not the nymph you thought,
That would fall weakly to her knees,
For your rosy love and honey-bees.
Oh gentleman shepherd spare my heart,
From your moaning before you start,
For my head has begun to ache,
And your wistful words are far to fake.
I will never fall for thee
You and I can never be,
So give up sweetheart while you can,
For I’m in search of a loyal man.
Oh foolish shepherd of dreams,
Your offers are all lies it seems,
And though your words are awfully sweet,
They are far too fragile far too meek.
