if only you knew.

if only you knew.

A Poem by Sarah
"

this is actually a new one i wrote that its completely about me.

"
With every glance down, i only see the real
me. The metal slices my skin and your face is
what I see before it goes dark. If only you
knew what I do for you, and why i do it too.
You see it and shrug it off, as if it's nothing.
If only you knew the truth behind my scars.

Scars and blood don't mark my arm, but your
memory does. I need to confess, I'm not alright.
If you knew the truth, would you treat me the
same? Lie after lie, I save myself for the moment.
I love you, I hate you covers my flesh. Then a
sudden wave of guilt. Save me from my addiction
set into my brain. Take away the pain. Keep me
sane. Problem after problem, scar after scar. What
am I doing? I masquerade my feelings and lies during
the day and at night, I slice them away. And for you.
Darling, if only you knew what i do for you. Baby, I
need you. Need for you to stop me, hold me back.
Take this suicidal pain away. Can you save me from
myself? I cry though the night for your voice, but all
I can conceive is a gentle whisper, telling me lies.
So the cuts continue into the night, followed
by the tears. Was this what you imagined?
Darling, your name forever scars my arm, collecting
memories and piercing them through my head.
Oh baby, if only you knew what i do for you.
