Friends Of Life

Friends Of Life

A Poem by XxWhatsername86

When sorrowful times come to pass,

Do you cower behind a block?

Do you hide your true feelings,

When to others you can talk?

If today was your last day,

Would you sit alone and mourn?

Or would do the things you've dreamed

So your fantasies are born?

Does depression eat your soul,

And darken your good heart?

Could you replace it with some hope

To have a brand new start?

Is an oasis an aspiration

As you travel sadly lost?

Would you like it to be real

No matter what the cost?

If you ever come to find

You've made your greatest mistake,

Would you cry till it hurts,

Or find another risk to take?

So don't mope over tragedy,

And complain to your peers.

Will this be the first you've heard

That "Life is full of tears"?

Very well-worked piece, superbly balanced both in content and style.

I would rewrite it such that the verses are distinct from each other,
I reckon like that it would fall better and easier to the reader's eye plus it would better convey its content and essence.
