Standing Before A Mirror

Standing Before A Mirror

A Poem by Sarah S
"

When you stand in front of the mirror, do you like what you see?

"
Standing before a mirror
Blank face and dark eyes
Broken eyes..
Crying, hope is dead and gone
A futile obsession,
For perfection, unattainable

Standing before a mirror
Staring, into the heart of the pain
Dark days and hateful lies
Living inside
The most despised

Standing before a mirror
Crying for help
Silent as stone
Be strong while you break
All is falling away
But you'll find yourself in the end

Standing before a mirror
Blank face and dark eyes
Broken eyes..
Crying, hope is dead and gone
A futile obsession,
For perfection, unattainable
