A Ride At DuskA Poem by Sarah Spart of my 7th grade poetry unit.
The light fades from the sky
A few stars wink Like sprinkled diamonds The trees look black As does the distant vista A faint sliver of moon Barely visible Against the somber sky Many bright lights pass And illuminates a breakdown More stars appear, The sunlight is completely gone Only the lights of cars Racing along the freeway As the darkness seeps in The true beauty Of the cool night Is unmasked
