TimekeepersA Story by Sarah SWhats your view on sand?
"in every grain of sand, there is a story of the earth."
~Rachel Carson(1907-1964), American biologist and writer It makes me think, "lovely". Like in each tiny speck sand, the world. Its almost like the Who's in Whoville. If you could become microscopic and gaze at a grain of sand, you'd see the whole earth. Because really, that grain of sand has probably gone everywhere. Once upon a time, it was part of a rock, a riverbed, residing beneath a great oak, or watching the wild life unfold in an African savanna. This grain of sand has been around since the dawn of time, since the birth of this world, and it will go on recording the story of the earth until it ends. This grain of sand, this tiny fleck of matter, has been around for centuries, watching every chapter that began, and every one that ended. To think, that such an incredible job was entrusted to this small being. Many people, including myself in the past, would see a grain of sand and think, "oh, sand, whatever." But when you really think about it, that tiny grain is so important. When you hold it in your hand, you hold the story of the earth, a record that knows the greatest joys of this earth, and yet also the most tearful sorrows. Grains of sand are works of art. After today, I can never look at sand the same way again.
