Alone in OblivionA Poem by Sarah SWritten in 7th grade.
The day is dull
And I am alone The clouds look on gloomily And they hide the sight of the sky The angry wind pushes against And they start to cry Their tears speckle the ground And the rhythmic sound of running feet is heard As I look up dazedly The tears of the sky blur my vision Through bleary eyes I see My world, as it flies by me Only then do I realize that I am running Heads turn as I sprint by I care not, and I pass into oblivion I run doggedly onward Until I can run no more My steps falter and come to a stop Time creeps slowly and in my daze I see the lush grass coming to meet me Yet it comforts my collapse Motionless I lay, no will left inside Darkness embraces me, and I welcome it It soothes the pain, for the moment The day comes to a close and I am all alone
