She saunters about
A smile and happy confidence
She is the color of rainbows
Decorated by a sundrop web
An actress so terribly wonderful
The world greets her with pleasure,
Pawns in her crafty game,
Moved with ease by her nimble hands.
I watch the chess board unfold at her
fingertips.
How easily the lies slither out,
Poisoned words falling on innocent ears,
Spoken with a trickster's traitorous charm.
Her veil of pretense nearly infallible
But I see though the mask.
Beyond locked doors, hidden in lonely places,
She courts darkness in secret.
A tainted pixie,
A sprite with broken wings.
As dusk creeps upon the world,
she trembles with fear.
As stars twinkle their hellos,
She shakes with anger and rage.
As the queen of the night reigns in power,
An ice princess cracks into child-size puzzle
pieces.
Lonesome winds whisper at her window,
And as the midnight hour strikes,
The earth sighs a breath of peace,
And the tears at last sing her to sleep.
She is the Olympic gold medalist in the sport of
lying,
Perfect as can be, a thief of smiles.
But her secrets are not her own.
There is but one who bears witness to her silent
mysteries.
I, for I am all knowing, omniscient.
I am the truth.
