Mother's Day PoemA Poem by Sarah Ahmed
Today is the day that should be celebrated everyday
And I know you barely ever get all the credit you deserve I can't stress how much I love you, no matter what I do or say And I can't show my appreciation enough for all the good you serve I know your heart is at the end and no one acts like they care But I'm not exaggerating when I say you're in my every thought You're constantly in a state of injustice and nothing seems to be fair I recognize your pain and I realize you've been through a lot Open up your eyes and see what an inspiration you are The way you can continue to be brave never letting yourself fall down Your light is bigger than the sun and you shine brighter than a star You're the only royalty I see who deserves to wear a crown I fail to be by your side when your life is difficult and rough I see that through all these years we've sadly had no connection These words won't justify my behaviour and will never be enough But I hope I one day can save you and be your protection I want to be reason why you live on and not the reason you want to die I want you to realize your power and that you're far beyond strong I want you to know you're not weak and you've been elevated to the sky No matter how many times I mess up you let it pass along Remember your high status and how heaven is under your feet Remember you're admired by nature and honoured by God Remember you're my only hope waiting at the end of my street Remember that without you I'll forever be flawed My biggest fear is losing you and my biggest worry is you in harm My biggest regret is my ignorance and my biggest guilt is your pain I wish I could hold you in my arms and show you you're my biggest charm Although I hide my emotions my love for you is insane I hope that you and me will have an everlasting bond I hope no matter what you endure through you will continue to stand I hope you one day see that you'll always be above and beyond And that no matter what you go through I'll always reach out my hand © 2014 Sarah Ahmed |
