Mastless

Mastless

A Poem by Akoka Folami
"

It's been a really long time since I have written, so... just metaphorically stretching and loosening up the kinks! Speaking my mind without worrying too much about form

"
If my sail flows to you shore
I know what will become of me
It is the very same
As the many men before!
You will lift me out
From the burying sand
Curious, you prod me
Then carry me in your hand
You will cut out a piece
Of my delicate linen
And then take me back out
And set me to sea.
I know that in time
I will no longer sail
Onward... or sideways
Circling through gales
Mastless...
    Heartless...
        Disappear.

About
I live on a farm off of the coast of Maine (a beautiful view!!)... I love to: 1. Think peacefully off the peaceful shore 2. Go on soothing walks and drink hot Green Tea 3. The cliché: HANG W.. more..
