Dutchmen's BritchesA Poem by Akoka FolamiGood moods, nature's findings, Robert Frost, and good Ole Grandma inspired this one!As I was going on my walk today,
A surprise caught me along the way:
Along the path of moss and sticks,
Through the threet* of the Golden Finch,
Along the river of skipping stone's stitches,
I saw the lines of the Dutchmen's Britches*!
Many months of unpleasant soiling
Caused several weeks of the creek's cleaning and toiling.
The creek gave much chiding and pinches
And out hanging to dry were the Dutchmen's Britches!
Quite a funny sight for certain,
To see them hanging in line like a curtain.
For they're white, seamless, and bold.
Yes, applause to the creek for washing out the mold!
They must cause the poor wearer some unfortunate itches.
Because I never ever saw the Dutchman in his Britches!
