EyesA Poem by SharonOut of courtesy, out of politeness I present you with the gift of eye contact As I listen hollw eared To your breathtaking, colorful, mess.
For love, desire and passion I gaze into your eyes Searching for a sign That maybe, your heart is mine.
Perhaps out of interest, out of admiration I happily, lightly, give you my eyes To find such an object of interest For rarely, will a person give me such an invitation.
Eyes can be a fountain of tears A sign of sadness, frustration, and desperation So I may force onto you my eyes A silent cry for help, from all my fears.
Or maybe you're eyes begin to drizzle And from across the room, my eyes Will catch yours An hopefully, you hear eyes that are kind.
And many times, my eyes talk They are silent, but held evenly As I reply to your challenge In a game that one will loose eventually.
There are even times, my eyes scream, A high pitched, angry yell And I will paint you a beautiful expression One that will surely teach you a lesson.
But most of the times, you will only recieve a glance As my eyes wander in this space of matter We look and look away Many times, only by chance. © 2010 Sharon |
