Silence

Silence is not silence

Not a world without sound

Without waves cruising through the thick air

Not mouth taped shut

Nor vocal chord broken

 

Silence is fear

Fear of fear itself

Silence is acting--

Portraying fake emotions

Fake smiles

Still TALKING like everything is alright

 

But silence is not alright

Because silence is dangerous

It condenses all pure thoughts

Into solid hearts

A rock

Breathing is shallow

And a bitter taste never leaves your mouth

 

Silence is present

Silence does not disappear

This corrupt world

Silence engulfs me

The questions is--

Does it control you?
