SoldierA Poem by SharonIn a world, very different from this one...ther lives the soldier
In a world, very different from this one, Where happiness is scarce, Where the “good life” is merely a dream, There lives the soldier. He fights. He trains. It seems as though that’s all he ever does. It’s all he ever thinks about. It’s all he ever dreams about. His family longs for him, But will never fully understand, All that he has been through, All that he has seen. His friends will pity him, But will never know, All the hardships he had lived through, All the comrades he had lost. Each battle leaves a scar, That will never fade away. Each battle leaves a memory, That haunt’s his nightmares, even today. Does he regret his decision? Does he blame others for his fate? Will he survive the war? Or will he fade away? In a world, very different from ours, Where the nights dominate day. Where one lives constantly in fear, There lives the soldier. © 2009 SharonAuthor's Note
