From One Monster To Another

From One Monster To Another

A Poem by Xuru

It is shine and elegance I lack as I peel back my fingernails and share with you my filth.

I spin tales for the depraved and nasty. Their crooked smiles sharp with wit and venom.

I bruise my knuckles for the lost boys left to wander, breaking my chains in haste so that I may join their pack.

I sing love songs to the wives who lie untouched while I count their breaths from beneath their beds.

So raise a glass and splash the rye to commemorate this monstrosity brewing.

Glad you enjoyed this.

Thank you Carson for the read.
The dark side of human nature.
I really like this stanza:
I bruise my knuckles for the lost boys left to wander, breaking my chains in haste so that I may join their rat pack.
But wonder if 'rat' interrupts the flow. And brings to mind pop culture references that don't fit.
