Twisted and Broken

Twisted and Broken

A Poem by FoundInThought

I look for you in everything I see
Listening for your voice in every conversation
I wonder what it would have been like
If I could have ever thought of anything else
What have I missed and where would I be
Even these thoughts of you not being gone
Chase away thoughts of what else might exist
I'm alone and it seems that isn't going to change
Your memory still stronger than anything I feel
I'm numb to everything because you took it all
My heart, my soul, my very reasons for being
It isn't fair to pin this all on you, I know
It's my own fault that I could never hold you close
I knew I couldn't from the very start but I tried
I wrapped myself up in you until the very end
I fell into a pit I called love without knowing the depth
I'm still laying where you left me, twisted and broken

Loved and Lost.
The last line says it all.
Very good.
