I Miss You, Friend of Mine

It's been a year since a friend of mine died, thought I would write this in memory of him.

It's been a year

One long year since you've gone

And even though you aren't here

It feels like you are

Sitting right next to us

Holding us close

Wiping away the tears

Laughing with your skateboard in your hand

Cracking jokes and laughing at puns

I know you wouldn't want us to cry

But friend, a tear is falling down both cheeks

We all miss you so much

We all wish you were here

We all cry and think of you

Never a thing bad

Always the good things

Those who knew you shed a tear

Those who never knew you wish they'd met you

We all miss you, dear friend of ours

We all miss you

And like a fallen soldier

We all will remember you.

because it's those good memories how we must remember our loved ones with, though how sad and in pain we must be.
