HerA Poem by RoseShe was beautiful. She was confident on the outside. She knew guys liked her. She knew they looked at her when she walked by. She had beautiful green eyes which were always surrounded by black eyeliner which made them 100x prettier. She was friendly. She had an attitude. She didn’t like being told what to do. She was stubborn. She seemed fine to everyone else. She cried herself to sleep. She was lonely. She was heartbroken. She lied, a lot. She was always ‘okay’ if you asked. She’d even say that. Guys gave her attention. She got hit on all the time. Always had men looking at her. It was flattering and she liked it, but it wasn’t what she wanted. She didn’t want any of those guys, she didn’t want the quarterback. She didn’t want the guy who had loved her since they met. She didn’t want the guy who asked for her number. She didn’t want the guys who asked for her nudes. She didn’t want the ones who called her beautiful all the time. She wanted him. He just didn’t want her. © 2018 Rose |
