A Philosophy on PhilosophyA Story by XenoMarJust separating facts from facts.
When I die, who will remember what I did long after I'm dead? Friends and family? They die too. Memories are only good for as long as there is someone alive to cherish them.
So how do I maintain my legacy? Mentoring people? No, when people grow up they go their own ways. Perhaps, looking to leave behind their own legacies. I could always carve it into stone? I'm afraid that won't do either. Many stone artifacts are still standing, built by ancient peoples. We in the modern age just barely have a grasp on what these ancient cultures were like. No famous individuals to speak of among them. Maybe, I could become a radical thinker? No, that won't do either. Who's to say my own peers won't turn against me like they did to the ancient philosophers and scholars in their time. Only to be remembered long after that they were right all along. Afterall, the Earth isn't flat. Maybe, I could come up with something that everyone jumps on the "band wagon" for. That seems to be how it is, nowadays. Create something an absolute idiot could cobble together and then cash in on it. Maybe, I'll make this a Facebook status and see how many "likes" I can get (: That there is a quick way to get recognition. I could care less about how many people will "like" my idea, actually. So how do I change the way people remember people who have given us...change? That's the keyword right there isn't it? Change? Im sure I can think of something... © 2014 XenoMar |
