Evan decided to take a walk on a rainy Monday afternoon. He grabbed his hoodie and keys and walked out the door. He felt the cold brush of the wind and the raindrops on his skin. He decided to walk the two blocks to Sanger’s house. Once at the door he stopped and knocked.

“Evan! My favorite guitarist, come in.” Sanger said with a little too much enthusiasm.

“Why are you so jumpy?” Evan asked as he walked into the kitchen to get something to eat.

“Well, you have to promise not to kill me.” Sanger replied. Evan just blinked.  “I called a record label and told them about Battle of the Bands and they said they might come!” Sanger jumped.

“Sanger, I don’t think that they’ll come and even if they did, there are other bands there too. It’s not like they’ll pay attention to only us.” Evan opened a bottle of water and drank a sip of the cool, clear liquid.

“Yeah, you have a point.” Sanger said disappointed.

“Want to play Scrabble?” Evan asked setting up the game. Sanger nodded.

“S-A-N-G-E-R. Sanger! 25 points!” Sanger smiled.

The boys played until they got bored with it and then Evan decided that he should be getting back. He walked out the door and stepped into the pouring rain. He liked the rain. There was something so peaceful about it.

After getting back to his own house Evan got ready for bed. He put on his sleeping attire after taking a shower. Climbing into bed he programmed the alarm and shut off the lights.

At school the next day Ray and Hayley were back together. No one knew they broke up over the weekend. Ray and Hayley made there way towards the lunch table hand in hand. Ray sat down next to Ella and next to him Hayley.

“Sleep over at Joel’s house.” Evan told Ray.

“Kay.” he replied.

“It’s a no girl’s allowed slumber party.” Sanger said.

“But then why am I coming?” Ella asked confused.

“You’re not a girl.” Sanger retorted. Ella hit Sanger with her water bottle.

“Not cool.” Ella replied.

“Actually, Sanger you’re right. Ella’s such a man.” Joel teased. Ella crossed her arms.

“Can I come?” Hayley asked out of the blue.

“Sure.” Joel said before the bell rang.

Chaos was all that could describe Joel’s house that night. Makeup lay all over the floor from when Hayley and Ella tried to make Sanger into a woman which they succeeded at doing. Trash from food was all over the floor from when they decided to watch a movie. Ella decided to make a smoothie which went horribly wrong. Sanger always made a mess where ever he went and Evan was attempting to clean it up.

“Ella, your suppose to put the lid on the blender before you start it.” Joel explained to her. Ella was covered in banana and strawberry goop.

“Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention because Sanger started sing I feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain.” Ella began to clean up the kitchen. Joel switched on some music and kept cleaning the house.

The house was clean and the kids were exhausted.

“I don’t feel so good.” said Evan after sneezing twice.

“Me too.” Ella said holding her stomach.

“Well, Ella of course you don’t feel good you ate twenty poptarts.” Joel explained to her.

“Well, they were just so good.” she said reaching for another one.

“Your hopeless.” said Sanger. Everyone began to laugh at his comment.

“So, what next?” Hayley asked getting up off the floor everyone else was laying on.

“Nothing.” Evan said sneezing again.

“I think your getting a cold.” Ray said to Evan.

The group decided to go to sleep because of school the next day. Evan decided to go home because he didn’t feel good.

In the morning they woke up and decided to get to school early to finish up their homework.

“Matt!” Ella yelled and ran over to hug him.

“Hey, Car Crash.” he said kissing her on the head.

“Why are you here so early?”

“My mom made me take track this year.” he replied.

“Oh, you’re a fast runner so it works.” she said letting him walk away towards the gym.

“You sprinted all the way over there just to hug him?” Sanger asked.

“Yes.”

“You’re crazy, kid.” Sanger said opening the door to the school.

After school Ella and Joel decided to work on their drama projects together. They went over to Ella’s house and got started. They were suppose to make posters for the upcoming play. Ella and Joel were both in it. Ella auditioned because she wanted to Joel auditioned because Ella made him.

Evan didn’t go to school that day because he was really sick. He had a fever and the sniffles.

“That’s what you get for walking in the rain.” his mother said.

“I rain.” he replied. His mother laughed and gave him the soup she made.

“You have a visitor.” his mother said walking outside so the mystery guest could come in.

“Hey baby.” Mandy said walking in with his books.

“Hey, sick no food dead.” he managed to get out.

“Okay.” Mandy laughed setting his books on his table.

“Happy see.”

“Happy Feet?”

“No, happy see.

“Uh, okay, Evan.” she said walking over to him.

“Love bye guitar.” he said closing his eyes.

“You love your guitar but what about me?” she said handing him his acoustic guitar.

“Too.” he replied.

“Okay, well you get some rest. I’ll see you when you can build full sentences.” she said walking out.

Evan began to play his guitar but found it too tiring so he set it down next to his bed.

“Mom, help sick dying food!” he got out.

Sanger and Ray were hanging out at the school still. They were just bored at home so they decided to meet at the school.

“Hey, little punks.” they heard a voice say behind them. Sanger turned around and saw Brock.

“Uh, hi. How was your vacation?” Sanger asked.

“Its gonna be better once I beat you two to a pulp.”

“Heh, well me and Ray here have to go to detention because we were bad little punks.” Sanger said backing away and running towards his car. Ray followed and got in his own car.

They both decided to go to Ray’s house. Sanger parked his car and got out.

“That was a close one.” Ray said.

“Yeah, I totally forgot about him.”

“Yeah, I know.” Both of them walked into the house and sat down on the couch.

“This house is huge, Ray.” Sanger said looking around the room.

“Yeah, my parents are letting me have a huge party for my 18th.” he replied.

“That would be a lot of fun.”

“Yeah, I’m gonna have you guys play.”

“Yay! Ray’s a jolly good fellow; oh Ray’s a jolly good fellow that Ella can deny!” He sang.

“Hey!” Ray said hitting him.

Ella and Joel were hyper and had markers in their hands. They had finished their posters and had drunk three Rockstars each. Ella ran over to Joel and drew a bat on his cheek with the red marker. Joel drew a bird that he called a pigeon on her nose. They started drawing creatures on each other.

“That looks like a sting ray.” Ella said looking at the drawing on her forehead.

“It’s not its Ray.” Joel said exploding in laughter.

“Heh, it’s a type of Ray.” Ella said laughing.

“Ray’s going to mad that he’s on your forehead.”

“Why?”

“He wants to be on your lips.” he said laughing again.

“Heh, Matt would be mad.”

“Oh, I have to draw Matt trying to kill Ray.” Joel said grabbing a blue marker and adding another doodle to her forehead.

“It’s a beast!” Ella exclaimed.

“Why did you draw a beast on my chin?” Joel said looking at her.

“There’s a beast on your chin.” she said laughing.

“Why is the beast pink and fluffy?”

“Because, it’s Sanger!” she said causing both of them to explode in laughter.
