.::Sleepless ::.A Chapter by Ana:DYay Chapter 2! I'll probably get the whole book on here today. :]Ella was in the middle of an argument with her mother. Usually they would get in an argument and then sit down and eat dinner together. But this night was anything but usual; sometimes Ella’s mother would slap her around. “Go live with your dad or your friend Joel because you seem to love it there. Why don’t you like to stay here with me, I did everything for you.” her mother shouted. “I like any place that you’re not in.” “Go I don’t keep you. I just don’t understand. What happened to those nights when you would come and watch TV with me?” “Is this before or after you started beating me?” said Ella. Her mother had had enough so she smacked her around a bit. “Don’t you ever talk to me like that again.” she said once more before hitting her on the back with a belt that she used like a whip. “You like to be treated like an animal. You like being shouted at.” Ella ran into her bathroom. It was a room where she could lock herself away from the world and most of all her mother. Ella sat down on the floor. Why is this happening to me? I mean most kids have it worse, but still. I don’t deserve this. She thought lying down on the cold, tiled floor. Evan was having a quieter evening than Ella. His brother was downstairs fighting with his parents about whether or not he should go to college. Evan was up in his room talking on the phone with his girlfriend, Mandy. “I’m working on some homework. What are you doing?” said Evan into the phone. “Heh, I can’t believe that happened.” he got up and looked out his door to see his brother run into the room right next to his. “Hey, Mandy, can I call you back—Kay—Bye.” Evan walked into his brother’s room. The stereo was blaring Breaking Benjamin. “Hey, buddy, a bit of advice, never tell mom and dad that you don’t want to go to college.” His brother said not looking up from his book. “I don’t really want to go to college either, but I guess I should then.” said Evan. “You’re the smart one. That would break mom and dad’s heart if you didn’t go.” his brother said getting up and getting on the computer. “I’m going to pick out some colleges. You should get to bed, night bro.” Evan walked out of the room. Joel was at home by himself. His father hadn’t come home from work. He didn’t get off until 8, and it was 7 now. Joel attempted to cook macaroni and cheese, but he burned it slightly. He was sitting on the couch eating and watching the TV. Joel’s mother had died of cancer five years ago. It really took its toll on him and his father. He had to learn to somewhat cook, do his own laundry, clean up the house [which wasn’t too much of a problem because he has a severe case of OCD]. His father had to take two jobs and work late. Joel also had to take a job, but it was over the weekend. “I can’t make it on my own because my heart is in Ohiooooooooo!” sang Sanger. He was in a good mood tonight. He had had dinner with his parents and his little sister wasn’t bugging him. “Sanger, could you please turn that down I’m trying to put your sister to sleep.” his mother asked. “Kay.” he got up and turned down the radio. His friends made fun of him for listening to Sanger went and opened his window. He climbed out and got on his roof. He sat down and watched the sunset turn into darkness. The only reason he was out there was to see if his neighbor was in the yard gardening, or trying to garden. He was a single cat man. He couldn’t do anything right. The only problem is that he use to be in a band, he didn’t go to college and that’s how he ended up. The next day, Ella and Joel walked over to their usual lunch table. “Ew, it’s Sanger.” said Ella jokingly. “What’s on your arm?” asked Sanger. “Oh, it’s just a bruise. I fell asleep and I woke up with it.” she said covering up how she got it. She didn’t tell her friends about it. “Oh, it looks like it hurts.” said Evan taking her hand and looking at it. “Not really.” said Ella. She looked at her lunch. It looked gross. “Egg salad.” she mumbled. “Oh, I think Sanger likes Rose.” teased Joel. Sanger responded by throwing egg salad at him, which missed and hit Ella. “Hey.” she said throwing more at him. “Kay guys, I really don’t want egg salad on my shirt for the rest of the day so chill.” she got up and threw her trash away. “Hey, hey, it’s Ray.” said Ray walking up to the four. “Ray!” said Ella getting up and hugging him. “So did you guys hear about “Well, I heard about it, but I guess they weren’t for sure about it so I only told Evan.” said Sanger. “Well it’s going to start in April and end in June.” he said. “Really, we should enter.” said Joel. “You guys should, you were amazing at Sanger had gym with Ray. Sanger walked into the boy’s locker room. “What are you doing here?” said Brock. “Transvestites are not allowed in here.” he said as Sanger passed him. This happened every year. Just because he looked different and he wasn’t that athletic didn’t mean he was a woman. “Come man, we don’t want to be late.” said Ray dragging him out to the gym.
