Chapter 16: About Falling.A Chapter by Ana:DThis is short.“I’m so sorry.” She apologized immediately, “I have to go.” She said running out of the room. “Hey did you get him to come out? Hannah, where are you going?” Ray called after her as she rushed past him. She ran out of her own house and then realized she had no where to go. She looked around a bit before deciding to go to the Dinner Diner because she was hungry. She regretted letting Alex eat her Chinese food. “Hi, may I take your order.” A new waitress asked her as soon as she sat down. “Um, I’ll just have a bacon burger with onion rings.” She replied. She didn’t care about getting fat at that moment she just wanted to eat. Her cell phone vibrated in her pocket as soon as she got done. It was Sonny so she texted him her location and stayed put until he came down there. “Why are you here?” he asked her when he got there. “Well, I was hungry and I couldn’t stay in the house anymore.” “Oh, well you did a good job. You got Trevor to come down stairs.” Sonny smiled eating some of the leftovers on her plate. “Oh, Yay me.” She said unenthusiastically. “Someone’s a little down.” Sonny said noticing her mood. “I’m completely fine.” She said. When they got home Hannah went straight to bed because she didn’t feel like talking to anyone. In the morning she got ready for school. What a joy that was going to be. She got ready and Sonny and her left for the school. “Ew, I look absolutely atrocious today.” She said checking her appearance in the car mirror before getting out. She went straight inside and opened her locker. A note dropped to the floor. Hannah stared at it for a second before bending down to pick it up. She decided against reading it and threw it in the trash. Probably someone was being immature and gave her a “love letter”. Around lunch time she was beginning to feel really nervous because she knew there was no avoiding him. She walked out to the outside eating area and sat down at the usual table. Matt and Chase came and sat across from her. They were too busy in their conversation to notice that she was there. “Hey Hannah.” Alex said greeting her warmly. “At least some one noticed I was here.” She said aiming that comment directly at Matt and Chase. “HANNAH! When did you get here?” Matt asked. “I was sitting here the whole time?” she looked at him skeptically. “Oh, I’m sorry. Hey, Trevor!” Chase said waving behind Hannah. She took a gulp of her water before she felt him sit down next to her. “Did you not get my letter?” he whispered. “No.” She said feeling bad that she didn’t at least open the note. “Oh, I made a spare.” He said handing it to her before walking away. She made a note not to throw this one away and she put it in her jacket pocket. The next day Trevor was hanging out with Sonny. Hannah was upstairs as the boys occupied the downstairs. “Ha!” Sonny yelled as he crushed Trevor at the video game. “Nice.” Trevor said because Sonny fell over while doing his victory dance. Trevor felt his cell phone vibrating in his pocket. He decided to ignore it but the person kept calling. “Hello?” he said impatiently. “Hey, Sonny, I have to go.” Trevor dashed out the door. He climbed into his car and drove off as fast as he could. He wasn’t even paying attention to the stop signs or lights, he just drove right through. Hannah was in her room when she received a phone call. She answered it. “I’ll be right there.” She said before hanging up and going to get into her car. She drove to the hospital as quick as she could. When she got there she looked around the waiting room but couldn’t see anyone she knew. She walked up to the counter. “Um, what room is Alex Shinnings in?” she asked. “He’s in the ICU.” She said pointing towards the gray door. “Oh.” She said walking through them. She quickly caught sight of Trevor’s head. “Trevor, how is he?” she said hugging him. “Not too good.” He replied. “Oh.” She said. They staid silent the whole time they were there. The hospital had a putrid smell, like rubbing alcohol and formaldehyde. Hannah really didn’t like hospitals that much. They disguised her. “Trevor, you should get home.” She said helping him towards the door. “He’s my brother.” He said. “Yeah, of course.” She said puzzled by what he meant. “I need to stay.” He said. “No, you have to think about yourself. You’re going to wear yourself out. You need to go home.” She said. “No, I’m staying.” He said walking back to Alex’s bed. “Trevor.” She said. “You’re not the one with the brother who tried to overdose now are you?” he shouted. Hannah took that as her cue to leave. She walked out of the hospital feeling bad for trying to get Trevor to leave. She was only thinking of him but he was busy thinking about Alex. She couldn’t blame him though, because that was his one and only brother. When she got home she remembered the note that Trevor had given her. She took it out and locked the door because she was nervous about what it said. “You know what, it was never meant to be.” She said taking the letter and throwing it in the trash. The End.
