Love is Forever...

Love is Forever...

A Poem by Xavier Sedah
"

A poem for my dad who passed away this last November.

"
In the pain of death, not only for the unwilling victim,
But for the living shell, is unbearable for all ages.
Even for those before their last hour.
And for the question of what comes after, that not all have faith in,
Is in process.
As well as the unforgiving, insane to the minds of human beings
Grieving state that will occur to all mortal origins.
And for the loving witness of the new angel that has no understanding
Or forgiving, that is, of the new angel, to some is rot or dust, is even more painful
To the mind's heart, and past the barrier of sanity.
For myself, I feel I know the outcome of death, and know that as a young mad
Person of mortality, I can feel the pain of my past father,
And the broken heart of him, as well as the lives that are still bright, and well-tinted.
The man of love, laughter, and living has been born inside of my heart, and past
The soul, as he exceeded the boundaries of mortal knowledge, wisdom and love, and is the love planted inside the genius of a mortal's mind...
And as that mortal writes of the unknowing, but can see past the darkness of not believing, he believes not of the holy, but of the forever...
Love is forever...

You're very welcome Lawrence. Also, my dad's favorite cartoon was Yogi Bear too!

You're welcome Amber, I'm fourteen, but I have been writing for awhile. I'm new to poetry, and my inspirations are Edgar Allan Poe as well as Eminem. If you have any questions just ask.

Let me just say, Wow, this was very moving and incredible! My favorite line is "And the broken heart of him, as well as the lives that are still bright, and well-tinted." Just everything about it is just beautiful, and once again, incredible!"

Thank you for allowing me to read this,

An interesting cognitive exploration of death and it's ramifications. The grammar is a bit hard for me to follow at times. Lines that appear to be sentences, turn out not to be. It doesn't ruin the piece, but maybe if the piece were more lyrical it wouldn't be as noticeable. All that being said, this is a very thought provoking piece and could be great with a little tweaking.

This is a beautiful sentiment of what you remember of dad. (Your Dad)
What a heartfelt writing from your heart. I feel your lose and sorry for the lose of you dad.

I lost my dad in 2001 on Father's Day. I still remember it like it was yesterday - A great man, I wish he was here today by my side so we could just talk again.

They are in a better place dear - One day at a time - Hour by hour- Minute by minute. The pain of losing dad will fade a bit, but you will always feel him in your heart.

You will come across things and people that will remind you of him when you least expect it and tears will flow dear.

Beautiful writing.

Firstly, really sorry to hear about your dad:/

The first time I read through this poem, I didn't really care for it that much--and it's not because it isn't good; it's because it doesn't really seem like a poem to me. Obviously, it's unstructured and un-rhymed, and there are plenty of poems out there which are the same way, but yours goes even further and abandons any sense of lyricism too.

Still, this is good writing, and I realized it after reading it over the way I would simple prose. The way this is written is unusual and unique; more meditative than descriptive. I don't feel the raw emotion from you that I was expecting in this work given the subject matter--the writing is too cerebral and sophisticated for that. Instead, what I'm getting is a very profound meditation on the subject of death itself. It's not beautiful like I expect poems to be--it's provocative. That doesn't detract in the slightest from its quality though; I liked it.
