Fading Away

Fading Away

A Poem by Xander West

Fading Away

Holding on to the last scents of you,

Fading ever more from our sheets,

Such moments I am washed far away,

As my hearts pounds with thunderous beats,

Laying softly upon your cold pillow,

If only to be closer to you this night,

Slowly the scent I love has slipped away,

Holding on to the faintest hints so tight.

To sleep I fall so I may dream of you,

To once again hold my love if I may,

Yet dreams hold no scent since all faded away,

Even my dreams are sadden this lonely day,

Each morning I awake hoping to find you,

Yet each morning your scent has slowly faded away,

Each night I hold your pillow slightly more tightly,

In hopes my dreams are filled of you silently pray.
