Questions of Love

Questions of Love

A Poem by Xander West

Questions of Love

What greater way to express love than to sacrifice what you hold so close and dear?

How else will know if love is real unless you pull down the walls of hidden fear?

How can one show the depth of love without the other sacrificing all for the sake of two?

My words may be as sweet as summer wine, yet isn't love expressed by actions we do?

Can one truly understand love, unless first they taste the bitterness of a broken heart?

Love knows no distance, bodies may be an ocean across, yet don't loving hearts never shy far apart?

If we listen to our mind's for facts, why would we ignore our hearts regarding Passion?

Why steaming nights are a blessing, don't we more desire tender moments of compassion?

While beauty may attract our bodies, doesn't the heart judge better with a first touch by chemistry?

We may hold on to strong will of independence, yet isn't love written in the fates to be?
