Sunshine of My Life; Daughters of MineA Poem by Xander WestSunshine of my life; daughters of mine The source of my warm sunshine, Two beautiful daughters of mine, Forever they are the center of mind, The key to my smiles every time. Though we may be currently far apart, They are eternally held in my heart, The time apart allows us to treasure Every moment shared, all in pleasure. Like the precious look of a perfect gift, The joy of her smile opening what wished, Remembering how her eyes so adored, One smile of hers and my soul is restored. To the top of the world we climb so high, Love forever bonded in hearts there is never goodbye, In the fields at heavens gate we roam and play, Staring at lakes far below I know you are in my heart to stay Watching my daughters run through the meadows, Plucking blooming dandelions to wishful blow, My heart eagerly swells in loving paternal pride, For one day before I know I will be walking the bride. Listening to crashing of waves upon the rocky shore, My two princesses prance as they happily explore, To the sounds of pounding tide washing the sand, I watch them grow beautifully hand in hand. In my arms they pounce to rest and sorrowfully cry, I console them with my love even long after I die, Upon my shoulders I hold them protectively tight, I long to hold them each and every single night. We are amazed how day by day they grow lovelier, Always hoping to see smiles to make them happier, I love my sweet darlings more than the air I breathe, How precious they are to my heart is so hard to believe. Through the world we travel hand in hand, To see wonders of the imagination so grand, To witness such creations that so magnificent, Only to pale in beauty to these two innocents. © 2016 Xander WestFeatured Review
