Walking Among Giants

Walking Among Giants

A Poem by Xander West

Walking among Giants

Walking among sleeping giants of evergreen,

Tranquility emitting from life like I've never seen,

Soaring above timbers stretching to the very sky,

Untold beauty of the forest life no one can surely deny,

Massive trunks spreading along the forest ground,

Deer dancing among the floor without every making a sound,

Life brimming from these trees from ages long ago,

Quietly we walk along a crystal clear stream's gentle flow,

Chipmunks darting along the branches the size of trees alone,

A glimpse into another world we were blessedly shown,

Wisdom of the redwood giants whispering in the wind,

One can only hope such life truly never comes to an end.
