Crashing

Crashing

A Poem by Xander West

Crashing

Listening to the ocean's waves crashing upon the shore,

Thinking how I miss all in this life I truly adore,

Listening to the seagulls soaring above taunting me,

Thinking of how I feel as lonely as the vast open sea,

Listening to the ocean's wind whispering to my soul,

Letting the tides pull me away under their control,

Listening to the wakes crashing upon the boulders,

the weight of my sorrows wearing down on my shoulders,

Listening to the moon's reflection on the dark ocean,

Hearing the harmonic motion dance with my emotions,

Listening to the turmoil crashing deep inside heart,

Each clash of wave like memories to tear me apart,

Bearing all of my soul to the tides of the seven seas,

Bringing an end to my torment I'm begging please,

Yet the currents will continue to pound my broken soul,

Until I find the strength to once again become whole.

A beautiful piece. The melancholy of it gets through to me. :)
