Staying Warm in Winter

Staying Warm in Winter

A Poem by Xander West

Staying Warm in Winter

Heavy powdered snow covered trees,

White Mountains soaring high above,

Watching the last of the falling leaves.

Mountains clinging to a wispy haze,

The sunlight barely peeking through,

Hoping to feel a few of the warm rays.

Snow falling slowly to the ground,

I watch as I think of my love,

Nothing but white curtains all around.

The thought of you keeping my heart warm,

As the blistering wind begins to pick up,

Howling wind turning into a raging storm.

Dreaming of your heavenly embrace,

Wishing you were in my loving arms,

Your touch quickening the pulse of heart pace.

While the brisk cold may surround us today,

The warmth of our touch may forever heat,

Our blossoming passions leading the way.
