Winter's FrostA Poem by Xander WestAn aching heart.....We can’t stop the winter’s frost from coming to our door, We can only hold on as the worst of seasons come to pass, Hoping for spring’s blossoms of romance that we all adore, For even the coldest of winters will finally thaw at last.
While the heartaches at each love that comes to end, All in life at that moment seems to be covered in sorrow Somewhere around the bend is our loving best friend, For the sunrise shall shine a little brighter tomorrow.
We can’t stop winter’s frostbite from covering our broken hearts, We can only stand fast until time that heals all slips slowly by, Hoping for the golden days of summer’s blissful love to start, But until then, I need a warm shoulder to rest upon as I cry.
Why my heart flutters in anguish on this long depression day, Is well beyond the understanding of my poor forsaken soul, All I wish is for a warm hand to hold mine and sweetly say, My love for you will make your shattered heart once again whole.
We can’t stop Jack Frost for his time upon us all is inevitable, We can only search for the one who creates the spark in our eyes, For only by suffering can we truly appreciate the beautiful, Only then can we truly say to the cold winter’s grasp good-bye. © 2015 Xander West |
