Sacrifice for my Daughters

Sacrifice for my Daughters

A Poem by Xander West

Sacrifice For my Daughters

Soaring high above outstretched clouds in the stratosphere,

An stunning angel from far above suddenly appears,

Wonder masked upon my face as she calls out "My Dear",

"I'm here to warn you and only you of a great fear",

"Look around, all you know and love will surely end",

"Your fate was written before time here ever begin",

"While you fear the task, strength you will find from within",

"Compete the task and all your sins you will amend",

Moments later my eyes upon to me landing upon the ground,

People bustling and panicking all around,

I watch the terror unfold without uttering a sound,

Humans battling angelic demons surely all death inbound.

A lost soul deep in me prays to my Heavenly Father,

He answers to find strength to save my daughters,

Suddenly my mind is flooded with loving memories of her,

Of the present, the distant future and things that were.

I stand to face The Deceiver surely expecting my end,

He smirks and cast shadowy doubts of all my evil sin,

Yet I remember the words of my angel to find strength within,

I accept my fate as meet the unknown with a laugh and grin.

All goes a grimly black as I appear deep within a hellish pit

I'm immediately overcome with a chilling fear I must admit,

Yet arising from somewhere within a feel power of my spirit,

Knowing failure means doom of my daughters, how could I quit.

Through the searing lakes of endless fire I quickly journey

Like wading through all your fears in an never-ending sea,

Anguish fills my thoughts, all my sins I see dancing around me,

If not for my loving daughters I would have surely by now flee.

Time has no concept here, years could have surely past,

No mortal could could push through, none have ever last,

The deceiver hackles as I begin to plummet landing on grass,

Of the greenest I have ever seen, flowers blooming in mass.

“Rest here my friend and I will ease your deepest pains”,

Yet I know the bright flowers are no better than heavy chains,

For I know I am the last of daughters' hope, all that remains,

So I accept the inevitable, I face his evil's eternal bane.

I close my eyes thinking of my girls one final time as I say good-bye,

Yet no matter my sins of my past I decide to hopelessly defy,

Out of me comes a light sparking brilliant colors throughout the sky,

For my daughters futures sake I will eagerly choose to die.

The Deceiver looks into my eyes, “You are no better than me”

However deep down in my soul he finally begins to see,

By sacrificing my body, my soul is now finally free,

I hear his voice many offers he bestows in a whimpering plea.

However I choose instead to walk towards a brilliant light,

Out of darkness I flee, in hopes of escaping the endless night.

For I happily watch my daughters grow below in my sight,

In a life that has been returned to a life of love and hope outright.
