Hopeless Love

Pondering upon a bright sparking shooting star,

Wishing somehow someday to heal this hideous scar,

Pleading to the shining moon far far away,

To let me hold you close again one day,

I can't figure out why after all this time,

Each day you crept back into my mind,

Every night you are the center of my dreams,

I just can't get over your love it seems,

Staring out into the endless blue ocean,

Praying for God to erase this sinking emotion,

Listen to the crashing waves upon the shore,

Hearing only your voice again I implore,

I can't figure out why after all this time,

How can I ever end this hopeless love,

How I scream to every God listening above,

Walking down the busy downtown street,

I sigh out loud as I resign in defeat,

Wondering aimlessly around this city,

How I imagine you walking along side me.

I can't figure out why after all this time,

Each day you crept back into my mind,

Every night you are the center of my dreams,

I just can't get over your love it seems,

How can I ever end this hopeless love,

How I scream to every God listening above,

As I release the grip you have upon my heart,

Only now can I accept we shall forever be apart.

i love this writing style you have! it keeps its fluent flowing nature while also retaining the message within. some poems lose their meaning as the writer seems to stumble over the lines, valuing quantity over quality, yet you have not compromised these throughout the extent of this beautiful piece. a really heart wrenching ending, as you wrapped it all up nicely in a few short lines, this is one of the more difficult qualities to achieve and you have done it to near perfect standards.

Thank you. I only recently starting sharing what I write. Hell, I only recently starting writing again. I write to express the emotions I have felt throughout my life. While I may not be feeling an emotion at the time I write, I do try to capture the past emotions, to let my words take me on a ride, a wave of emotions. Guess, you can say writing is my way of healing, to process my emotions and thoughts and move forward in life.
