Day After Day

Day After Day

A Poem by Xander West

I fall down into the luxury of a soft warm bed,

The crashing cold waves of darkness carrying me far away,

I think back to bitter honest truth of what you said,

Here I am, living alone day after lonely day.

Day after day, time and time again,

I never knew how to say,

You're all I ever wanted,

day after day,  repeatedly,

I  sat back and watched us decay,

you're all I ever desired,  Day after day.

over and over, I cried as you walked away,

you're all I ever needed, Day after day,

I think of you, I love you still, day after day.

I long for something, something that's so much more,

I think back to the way enticing hips would sway,

How your smile warmed me right to my very core,

Yet here I am, living alone day after miserable day.

Day after day, time and time again,

I never knew how to say,

You're all I ever wanted,

day after day,  repeatedly,

I  sat back and watched us decay,

you're all I ever desired,  Day after day.

over and over, I cried as you walked away,

you're all I ever needed, Day after day,

I think of you, I love you still, day after day.

I dream of your legs wrapped around as you kiss me,

I think back to how we would teasingly, temptingly play,

How you pull me to another world to where you are I would see,

But here I am, watching you from afar day after day.

Day after day, time and time again,

I never knew how to say,

You're all I ever wanted,

day after day,  repeatedly,

I  sat back and watched us decay,

you're all I ever desired,  Day after day.

over and over, I cried as you walked away,

you're all I ever needed, Day after day,

I think of you, I love you still, day after day.

I bite my lip as I vision you enticing me with your tongue,

I think back to how your hair was always beautiful in disarray,

How we were so sweet, innocent and young,

I think of you, years later, day after day.

Day after day, time and time again,

I never knew how to say,

You're all I ever wanted,

day after day,  repeatedly,

I  sat back and watched us decay,

you're all I ever desired,  Day after day.

over and over, I cried as you walked away,

you're all I ever needed, Day after day,

I think of you, I love you still, day after day.

I breathe sharply as I remember your intoxicating honeydew,

I think back to how after hours of pleasure in my arms you would lay,

How we were perfect together I always knew,

I love you still, forever more, day after day.

Day after day, time and time again,

I never knew how to say,

You're all I ever wanted,

day after day,  repeatedly,

I  sat back and watched us decay,

you're all I ever desired,  Day after day.

over and over, I cried as you walked away,

you're all I ever needed, Day after day,

I think of you, I love you still, day after day.
