Your Perfect Smile

I once promised a poem for a smile; I kept my word.

As the moon bestows romance upon our star-covered sky,

As the blooming flowers gift beauty upon spring's rolling hills,

As a child's giggles bless youth upon us all close by,

How your smile, your lovely smile, drives me to feel. 

I have seen so many sights throughout my life,

I have seen vast blue waters rolling towards towering white powder cliffs,

I have seen depthless lakes criss-crossing highlands beyond the reach of night,

I have seen snow-covered mountains reflecting flawlessly upon wakeless waters,

But your smile, your angelic smile, is the greatest sight.

I have seen tears of love heal a lonely man's broken heart,

I have experienced  love deepen while thousands of miles apart,

I have felt my child's embrace erase all of war's dark marks,

Yet your smile, your perfect smile, stands altogether apart.
