Life

Life

A Poem by Vivi

Life.
You own the book
You just have to choose or refuse to read it
You have read every word; twice, thrice
It still makes no difference
The book lies on the shelf
Getting dusty and old by the year
Just like me
The book is exactly like me
New words appear in the book as soon as they are thought or spoken
My words, my thoughts
I cannot change the already written words
For they are the past
And you cannot change the past
But there are so many things that you would do over again
And all you can do is read about it
Over and over
I do not understand the book
It's words confuse me
Still i read on
Until the end
Which has not been written, yet
I cant stop reading or writing
For if i so stop, then the book will come to an end
The book is lying there open
All i have to do is pick it up...
And read between the lines.
