Unknowing

Unknowing

A Poem by Vivi

The day has come, this alone I feel

My heart inside, they want to steal.

It's a disgusting truth; so obvious

My pain alone, defines their bliss.

Inside I will be gone, this much I fear

With a distasteful chime, the time grows near.

My heart they'll rip, my mind they'll spoil

All because, I was not loyal.

The clock, It ticks. I am alone

My smile gleams fake, for it has been sewn.

But one last thing, before they act

My soul, oh please, let it stay intact.

Hmmm, an interesting concept. Taking the heart but leaving the soul, it causes one to ask what really defines one self.
I do have one suggestion though. On the line, It's a disgusting truth; so very obvious, I would drop the very. It helps it flow a little better.
