When I was blind

When I was blind

A Poem by Eric Zavala

How am I suppose to react?
When you slam on the breaks and I feel the impact
As the glass flys through the air
I realize that everything hurts but nobody cares
As my body is still in motion
I feel as if I'm drowning in the ocean
Slowly falling to the sand below
Touching the bottom is a painful blow
Even when time has frozen still
This crash is only planing to kill
And the metals twist and turns
An endless love just burns and burns
It pulled me in when I was blind
But in the end I still was fine
Yet these scares still remain
Because these feelings I can't restrain
But this is the road i decided to choose
In the end I don't know what else I can loose
When my love didn't make it through
And our love has faded to black and blue
And it's hard to know if this is correct
Cause everything isn't direct
And it pulled me in when I was blind
But in the end I was fine
But now I can see
All the lies I receive
When it pulled me in when I was blind
But In the end i was fine
