Iron curtain

Iron curtain

A Poem by Eric Zavala

A iron curtain is all I see
It's standing between you and me
You try to open it so everyone can see what's going on
But by the time you do its already gone
And you sit there and cry on the stage
While I'm Behind the iron curtain
Filled with rage
Under the iron curtain I can smell your perfume
It's the only thing that keeps me going in the dark room
So I lay on a bed of roses that they threw at my feet
I can hear them clapping from their seat
A iron curtain is all I see
It's standing between you and me
You try to open it so everyone can see what's going on
But by the time you do its already gone
So I try my best to tell you my story
I do my best to make sure you don't worry
But it's hard to show you what's going on back stage
I know it would put you in rage
A iron curtain is all I see
It's standing between you and me
You try to open it so everyone can see what's going on
But by the time you do its already gone
