Acceptance

A Chapter by Austin Wade Runyon

Acceptance
by Sundrowner (Austin Runyon)

I searched the soul of the sun with the scorched tips of my fingers
Looking for the source of it's light
All it did was hurt me
All I found was more pain
All it did was make things worse
There's no point in trying anymore
I've resigned myself to my fate
At least in the dark there is rest

You are a really talented poet. This is amazing. Fighting against the world and against ourselves can often be frustrating and we might even end up disappointed. Trying to defeat our demons is never easy because they tend to fight back, sometimes making us sink even more into the darkness. Persevering in this fight is truly a task for heroes. Most people simply learn to coexist with their own dirt.
