Chapter 2 -- A Rat and a Tod

Chapter 2! In which we introduce a rat.... and.. Tod. Well, the Chapter kinda speaks for itself.

I quickly raced out the door.

�You got everything Autumn?� My mom was in the car ready to go.

�Sure mom, all set� I mumbled through my poptart. And on cue when my mom pulled out all you could hear was � Ahh AHHHHH STOP!!! NO!!!!!!! GET OUT!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!! AUTUMN!!!!! GET YOUR RAT!!!! AHHHH!!!!!� My mom gave me a dirty look, but I simply shrugged as if I had nothing to do with it.

I had put him in my heating vent, which leads right to the bathroom. I knew he�d go into the bathroom first simply because he loves the smell of Greg�s cologne. That was all I needed. I got out and my mom told me to stay out of trouble. I gave her a wink and them chuckled like a evil villian. She laughed and drove off. I had to go to the back of the school to enter. I knew that I was late and I�d have to go to the office first. They�d give me a tardy pass but would take forever, making me extra late. I hoped Tod was there, he could get me a pass and send me on my way, sometimes he�d let me slide IF no one was there first. Tod was 17 and was going to graduate this year. Since he was especially good in school, he got a job there. He worked in the office and went through personal files, he even substitued at times ( which was a special treat!) Oh! Have I forgotten to mention? He's also my bestest bestest friend!

I walked in the office carefully and slowly so as to not be seen. I squinted at the desks to see if Tod was there. No sign of him. But Mrs. Heezly just caught me. I mean she�s sweet and kind and all, but she's super slow and such a scatterbrain.

�Hi Mrs. Heezly� It was over. I was going to be here forever. Then something happened. Tod came in. I nearly jumped ten feet in the air.

�Hey TOD!!� I quickly threw my hand over my mouth. Oops! Tod swong his head to me in a heartbeat. I had the full attention of the office now. I sat down with a hard thump. Tod was gonna kill me. I didn�t dare to look at him when I heard him sit next to me.

He leaned close to my ear. I blew my orange bangs from my face. His hair tickled my ears.

�Hey Autumn� I gasped for air to my lungs but smiled sheepishly. His silky smooth voice was nothing but enchanting.

I let a smile curl. I�d have to admit. Tod was a beautiful guy. He had creamy chocolate skin that didn�t have a pimple in sight. Faded brown hair that curled in any way they wanted. But his eyes were what caught me everytime. He had hunter green eyes. He was wearing his normal black jeans with a black long sleeved hoodie. I stifled a small giggle and turned to him. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

�I�m guessing you heard my greeting.� I let my arms rest on my knees, holding my head up. I looked at him with pure joke. I watched him laugh a bit, shaking his head. I let mine drop. Catching a glimpse at my watch told me that I had missed a class. My mom would be furious.

�I�m guessing you need one of these� Tod tapped my forearm with a pass in hand. I could feel my heart leap. I gave him a quick hug. I left the office with a wave and smile from Tod. Boy, I�d never get tired of seeing that smile.
