To Be Accepted

To Be Accepted

A Poem by Ghost Writer

Talk about it but you'll never be heard,
Speak in hushed tones,
Depression is a dirty word.
Pills,
Hard to swallow,
Leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
Pick up a bottle and drink with the crowd,
Take a hit from the joint being passed around.
Don't worry just drink when the voices get loud,
Scream along with the band,
It's your favorite song.
Take a stranger by the hand because their eyes are like night sky,
Their lips taste like honey,
Their arms feel like home.
Because you're so damn tired of being on your own,
Because now you feel alive.
For a little while no one knows who you are,
No one knows your story,
What you've seen,
Where you've been.
Come around if you will,
Stay as long as you like.
Join your allies,
Become a galaxy and embrace the night.
Because when you're happy everyone is your friend,
When you feel like that you hope it won't end.
