BulletproofA Poem by AmeliNobody is bulletproof. If I had a dollar for everytime I've felt like this poem I'd be freaking rich man.Sticks and stones No broken bones Words crash around like waves. Never do I listen, yet always do I hear. The sound that shatters glass, The bullet from a gun.
I build invisible walls Withdraw into myself. And does it make you think Less of me than before? Rushing wind, it carves its path, The bullet from a gun.
Whispers behind plastic smiles cast a judgemental glance. If I keep looking forward I'll never see, always notice. Steady clockwork throbbing, it finds its mark, The bullet from a gun.
Each word of negativity, every single glance. They become another bullet, pull the trigger. You try to break me down, Wear me down, take me down. Firmly I will stand, Yet always do I fall.
