The Last KissA Poem by ToriI guess when poems mean something they dont have to rhyme real well >.>So the time has come, I can see it on your lips, I’ve tried so hard to ignore it, But we’ve reached the last kiss. Every little peck before, Was just an aversion of the truth, Every time your lips met mine, I couldn’t avoid saying goodbye to you. Just because I held you closer, Didn’t mean I’d never have to let you go, It only made things harder, When we reached the final road. “I can’t believe it’s only Tuesday!” So we often said in the week that you were mine, Though even as that Friday came, You refused to ever say goodbye. “I’ll see you later!” As you smiled and turned away, Though I tried to hold it back, I struggled hard for words to say. “Yeah, see you later!” As I hung my head against my chest, As the minutes passed, I felt my heart break less and less. “Please don’t ever leave me!” I’d do anything to keep you here, If you wanted I’d go with you, Only you could save me from the tears. I never will forget those words, As you brushed my hair behind my neck, “This isn’t the last kiss, It’s just the last until the next.” © 2011 ToriReviews
