Go Ahead and Cry

yeah, I guess we all can't help but cry, even when we know we're being lied to.

Broken-hearted yet again...

it's funny how love works,

you know it was never true,

but still it always hurts.

Time after time you tell yourself,

Maybe he's the one,

You soon realize you were wrong,

once he's gone and done.

Your heart wants him back,

but you know it's all a lie,

and even though you really shouldn't,

you go ahead and cry.

Tears stain your cheeks,

as you think about forever,

and who's heart is his,

and why you'll never be together. 

You fall for his lies,

hate yourself for doing so,

But it's who you are,

and you'll never let him go.

Another piece of happiness,

was extinguished with his goodbye,

Even though he wasn't worth it,

you go ahead and cry.

Say goodnight to his promise,

each and every word,

They meant nothing as it is,

But you know you'll still be hurt.

This world holds so much deceit,

you never know what's a lie,

but no matter if you believed him or not,

you'll go ahead and cry.

Tears mean we are still alive. A powerful poem with a sad story. I like the movement and flow of the poem. Ending was very good. People who lose their tears are dead waiting for death. A very good poem.
