Chained Wings

Chained Wings

A Poem by Tori
"

Yeah, it's not good. I just though it up on the spot. It's really stupid.

"

So what if I don't care?

So what if I fly away?

You're feelings no longer matter,

I don't care what you say.

Tell me not to go,

and I'll just disappear.

Tell me to listen,

and I won't even pretend to hear.

Try and stop me all you want,

but you hurt me,

you destroyed me,

so now I'm gone.

Tell me that you're sorry,

and I'll never forgive you,

Tell me not leave,

there's really nothing you can do.

You hurt me,

you broke my spirits

and bled me dry.

You crushed my dreams,

and killed my hopes,

and you still question why I cry.

You made me feel so low,

as if nobody even cared,

I was just a disgrace,

who's love was not meant to be shared.

You held me back,

you cut me down,

and you still wonder why,

I continue to frown.

Now that I am stronger,

and ready for greater things,

you still try and hold me back,

you wish to chain my wings.

I really like this poem! You portray someone who has been hurt badly but is able to become stronger and get away from the hurtful person. Love the message. It's bittersweet but a great poem and great writing! :)
